You may need to replace a component in BOMs where it is used. On a part record on the BOM Use (Cetec ERP’s Where Used report) screen, you will see all of the BOM revisions a part is used on. You can replace it with different component altogether, or just a different revision of the same part. This works for any component or subassembly used in a BOM, and simplifies engineering’s management of mass replacing components/revisions (generally used in conjunction with an ECO to audit the change).

1. Open up a part record.
2. Navigate to the BOM Use screen in the left hand navigation. If this specific part is a BOM itself, look under ‘BOM Data’. Filter for revision status (Active, Obsolete, Runout, Pending).
3. Type in the prcpart number that will replace the part in question. You can also select the revision you wish to use. To just change the revision of the same part, simply select a different revision.
NOTE: This will work the same for both subassemblies and components.
5. Click submit. The part will be replaced on every BOM on the screen.
