• Turning on Commissions
    • In order track sales commissions, first turn this option on in Cetec ERP. Navigate to ADMIN » Config Settings » Config Settings. Search for a config variable called Enable_Commission. Enter “1” in the value field and click Set.
  • Setting Up Sales Commissions
    • Note that you must set up the sales rep or distributor receiving commissions as a vendor in Cetec ERP. To do so, go to PURCHASING » Vendors » Vendor List and create a vendor record.
    • Once you have a rep set up as a vendor, you can then add the rep to a specific, quote, order, or invoice to drive commissions percentages and $ values to pay the rep.
    • For example, create a quote, fill out the header, fill out the line details.
    • Once the lines have been added to a quote, click the Commission link from the left side nav menu of the Quote interface.
    • Add a rep or distributor to pay the commission to, and click Update. Under the ‘Line?’ column specify which quote line(s) to assign to the rep. Under the Commission column enter the commission amount or commission percentage. Lastly, add any comments to the Comments section. When all this is done, click Update.
    • Commissions will follow through to orders and invoices and ultimately to payments made out to the reps you have modeled as vendors through the A/P module.
  • Recording Commissions Payment
    • To record that a commission payment has been paid, navigate to SALES » Invoices » Invoice Commissions.
    • To record a partial payment, click on the number under the # Commissions column. Under the Commission Details section, you can add a partial amount, add note, and click Update.
    • To record a full payment, click on the number under the # Commissions column. Under the Invoice Details section, check the Commission Paid checkbox and click Set. You can also record a full payment directly from the Invoice Commission report by checking the ‘Paid?’ checkbox, typing in notes, and clicking on Set.
    • Even after you have made enough partial payments to pay the full amount owed to a vendor, you have to take an additional step to tell Cetec ERP explicitly that all commissions have been paid by checking the “Paid?” checkbox and clicking on Set.
    • To send a check, cash, wire, or ACH payment to the rep, follow the usual process for entering a bill in Cetec ERP.
  • Commissions Reporting
    • To view quote level commissions report, navigate to SALES » Quotes » Quote Commissions.
    • To view order level commissions, navigate to SALES » Orders » Order Commissions.
    • To view commissions report, navigate to SALES » Invoices and choose one of the reports.
    • Invoice Commissions corresponds to Quote Commissions and Order Commissions, and show invoice level commissions. This is also where you record payments made to commissionable reps.
    • Commission Breakdown is a general overview of all vendor commissions entered.
    • Invoice Vendor Commissions groups the commissions entered by vendors. Utilize Commission and AR status to figure out exactly how much you should pay to a vendor.
    • Commission Payments lists partial and full payments as they are made. Note that these are only records of payments, and that they do not integrate with or drive accounting.
