With the release of 4.24, Cetec ERP introduced a Reminders/Tasks tab that lets users attach tasks and reminders directly to objects in the system. A quote, a work order, a vendor return line, a customer satisfaction case, or almost anything else a user works with day to day. That tab is live and already connected to records throughout the system.
The new Task/Reminder Dashboard builds on that foundation. Instead of hunting down tasks object by object, users now have one place to see everything assigned to them, or created by them, across the entire system. This is useful for anyone juggling responsibilities across departments, sales reps following up on quotes, purchasing agents tracking vendor issues, customer service reps managing open cases, or supervisors keeping tabs on their team's open items.
One dashboard, all your tasks
The dashboard is user specific. It pulls together every reminder and task tied to a user's account, regardless of what object it was created on. A task created against a quote and a reminder created against a vendor return line show up side by side, sorted and searchable like any other list view in Cetec ERP.
Each row shows the title, who the task is assigned to, who created it, the object type it is linked to, and the object ID. Clicking through takes the user straight to the task or reminder in its original context, so nothing gets lost between the dashboard and the underlying record.
Filtering by object type and user
Two filters make the dashboard practical for daily use instead of just a long list to scroll through.
Object type filtering lets a user narrow the view down to most any actions tied to the top level modules - Sales, Parts, Purchasing, Warehouse, Production, and Accounting. Leaving the object type unset simply returns tasks across all object types, so the filter is there when it is useful and stays out of the way when it is not needed.
The user filter allows for Cetec ERP users to check tasks assigned to or created by a specific person. If a user does not have permission to view another user's tasks, the dashboard only shows that user's own tasks, regardless of what filter is applied. The dashboard respects the same permission structure already governing task visibility elsewhere in the system.
Why this matters
Tasks and reminders are easy to create and easy to lose track of once they are scattered across dozens of quotes, cases, and work orders. A production planner might leave a reminder on a job. A support rep might flag a follow up on a case. A purchasing agent might set a task on a vendor return. Without a central view, checking on all of that means opening each object individually and hoping nothing was missed.
The dashboard turns that scattered set of reminders into a single, filterable list. Users can start their day by checking what is assigned to them, and managers with the right permissions can check on tasks across their team without digging through unrelated records.
Key takeaway
The Reminders/Tasks tab gave users a way to attach tasks to any object in Cetec ERP. The Task/Reminder Dashboard gives them a way to see all of those tasks in one place, filtered by object type or user, and respecting existing permissions. Less digging, fewer missed follow ups, and a clearer picture of what needs attention.
