Cetec ERP Release 4.17
We are excited to announce that Cetec ERP 4.17 has been released to BETA!
Cetec ERP 4.17 will be rolled out to LIVE cloud environments in January. We are looking forward to seeing our customers take advantage of the number of new features in Cetec ERP 4.17, all geared to make daily tasks simpler and teams more efficient!
Important new features:
New scheduling tool allows you to click, drag, and drop unlocked (i.e. unscheduled and unconfirmed) work orders, one at a time or multi-select, into a date slot on the Gantt Chart Order Schedule Summary.
- Running in “forward” mode, this will set the work order’s “work start date” according to the date you drop it into, and schedule forwards to auto-set an estimated order ship date.
- Conversely, running in “backward” mode, this will set the work order’s “ship date” according to the date you drop it into, and schedule backwards to auto-set an estimated order work start date.
- At the point you drop a work order (from the top grid/table) down into the Gantt Chart, this will “lock” the work order as locked (i.e. confirmed and scheduled). Within the Gantt Chart, you may click one or multiple segments at a time to move their work start date and ship date to a different date or dates.
- You may also click one or multiple segments and then click a Red ‘X’ to remove them from the Gantt Chart, which sets them as Unlocked and Unconfirmed and moves them back up into the report grid.
- Use the scrolling function of your mouse/keyboard within the Gantt Chart to zoom in/out of hours/dates/months/years. Learn more about this feature here.
In work order time tracking, manufacturing users may now track their time specific to a serial number, serial numbers, or serial number range.
- This is only available on the “new version” of the work order.
- Upon entering total time (supervisor time entry) or upon starting or stopping the time lock, there is a new [+] button which may be opened to enter or scan specific serial numbers that are being worked on by that user at that time.
- This provides serial-level traceability and auditability of work orders as to which users worked on which serial numbers on which work orders and for how long, etc. - potentially critical for manufacturing tracking in regulated industries. Visit our how to here.
Version 4.17 of Cetec ERP includes new reporting capabilities on the Inspection Failures report. Each failure code now includes an “Additional Material $ Cost” and “Additional Labor $ Cost” associated with particular inspection failures. See far right columns on the Production » Quality » Inspection Failures report.
- To achieve this reporting for Labor Cost due to an inspection failure, there is now a new field on the Start Work pop-up splash screen (ONLY on the “new version” of the Work Order screen) where you can select an Inspection Failure record, if one exists. This will tie the labor/overhead $ amount tracked on that work time segment to that Inspection Failure.
- For finished goods scrapping, use the split and delete/close line Scrap feature. Upon splitting a line item and setting that line item to delete, the scrap/inventory adjustment code on the Delete/Close screen will now include an option to tag a specific Inspection Failure Record. This failure record will flow through to the inventory adjustment/activity reporting for each component being consumed as a result of the delete/scrap.
User access control alert! Quote PDFs, Order Acknowledgment PDFs, and invoice PDFs will be hidden and inaccessible IF a user has the “Can’t See Resale” role restriction in place!
Cetec ERP now allows for controlling which Work Locations (equipment, machines, work stations) a user may be allowed to log work to. This could potentially help as a process control to enforce manufacturing tracking only for work an employee is certified and/or trained to perform.
- To set this up, select (multi-select) which OrdlineStatuses (work locations) a user is qualified for via the User Profile. Hold CTRL to select multiple work locations.
- This control will only be enforced on time tracking on the “new version” of the work order. Visit our guide here.
Alert! For several releases, Cetec ERP has had alerts notifying users about the deprecation of old versions of lists. In the 4.17 release, the link from the New Version to the old version is being removed. The old version of the list will still exist, but will require you to have the actual URL - this means current bookmarks will still work for the time being. The impacted lists are:
- Customer: Customer list, Contact list, Customer Address list, Backlog by Customer
- Orders: Sales Order list, Bookings list
- Sales Report: Sales Overview, Customer Reports (Bubble Chart)
- Quotes: Quote list, My Quotes, Quote Stats
- Parts: Part list, PRC list
- Note: users need to begin transitioning bookmarks from the old version of these reports to the new version.
Other new features:
-
Receipt labels may now be batch printed (or individually printed) from the Parts » Lists » List by Bin report (instead of having to print receipts one-at-a-time.)
-
Warehouse transfer orders can now use an in-transit warehouse. Previously this was only supported from the part record warehouse transfer button. Visit our guide here.
-
Cetec ERP now supports reporting on tool/asset maintenance frequency and upcoming maintenance dates via the new Tool Maintenance List (see Production » Tools submenus).
-
Previously, on user defined fields (a.k.a. “bonus columns”), you could assign a Field Type to a bonus column of: (text, large text area, date, radio button, yes/no, dropdown select). In version 4.17, Cetec ERP now supports an additional field type of “multi-select” (i.e. ability to choose multiple options from a dropdown list instead of only one option from a dropdown list) across ALL objects that support bonus column definition in Cetec ERP. Visit our blog here.
- Release To Pick Queues Set Of Enhancements:
- Module (new version) has been re-named to “Release To Production”
- Module now contains a section between upper search filters and lower results with additional batching capabilities, including the ability to set locked/unlocked on multiple order lines at a time, add multiple order lines to a single Batch/Group ID simultaneously, and issue serial numbers to multiple order lines at a time. Use the checkboxes on the far right of the results table to select which order lines to modify/update in aggregate.
-
Quality Alerts (see Part Record » (side nav menu) » Quality » Quality Alerts) may now be set for component-level parts in the part master record. For any BOM which uses such a component with a quality alert, if a work order is placed for that BOM, then that work order will show any such Quality Alert at the top of that work order main view. (Note: this new functionality is available only via the “new version” of the work order screens.)
- BOM Import (from .csv) enhancements!
- New support for intentionally importing Qty Per Top value of ‘0’
- Added “input validation” to control and alert for disallowed special characters in item/component prcpart strings (which would normally cause the import to fail)
- Added flag available in .csv template to import so specify controlling for exact component/item prcpart number matching (otherwise prcpart RAW1 would match a group including RAW11, RAW10, RAW1ABC, etc. instead of explicitly matching to RAW1).
-
The Sales » Invoices » Invoice Commissions report now contains a new column titled “Invoice Status” which will display whether the invoice is still open and unpaid or closed and paid.
-
BOM Charges can now be added to components to default on the BOM worksheet. When that component is added to a BOM quote, it’s charges will show as a ‘Misc Charge’ to be rolled up in BOM cost or added as a line item. Further, BOM charges for subassembly BOM worksheets will be supported.
-
The Purchase Order Receipt List (new version only!) now contains columns for an individual lot/receipt’s Date Code and Revision.
-
Pricing/Costing Import tools (e.g. for importing/updating pricing of vendor parts from a vendor catalogue) now includes the ability to import price/cost notes.
-
You may now set a default scrap factor and/or scrap adder value (number or percentage) on a part master record. If/when such a part gets added as a component to a Bill Of Materials, that default scrap value will autopopulate onto the BOMComponent row.
- You may now set a Customer Terms flag to enact a hold on quote-to-order entry and/or order-to-shipment (i.e. invoice) entry.
- To block quote-to-order entry unless full prepayment of quote/order is entered, create a distinct terms for Prepay (Req’d For Order Entry) in Admin » Maintenance » Data Maintenance » 9TERMS, and check the “Require Prepay At Quote” checkbox.
-
NOTE! Regarding ship/invoice control, any terms code set with a “prepay percent” value will require that % amount prepaid on an order before allowing the ability to ship/invoice that order (this was already existing behavior in Cetec ERP).
-
New search filter for customer terms now exists in the Customer List and the Invoice List.
- New API documentation (see Admin » APIs & More » API Overview). With this new documentation, it is our hope to better serve those who are utilizing Cetec’s API for external processes. In version 4.17, we’re also updating documentation of some API endpoints which haven’t had proper documentation in recent versions.
